Also known as RMMC, the Marathi community in Canberra is a closely knit family. Always there for one another through thick and thin.
The foundation starts way back since the mid-80s when the 1st Marathi pair arrived, and over the period, the numbers have grown slowly and steadily. Whilst the vibrant young generation aspire to reach heights, the experienced are always around to cheer, guide and at times lead the way with their helpful nature and easy approachability. Through their professional excellence, calm nature and generosity, the Marathi manus here has made a mark of his own in and around Canberra that anyone could deny.
For RMMC, it all started back in Aug 2006 when the Mandal was registered as a non-profit association, up until then it was an informal congregation. Since then there has been no looking back.
The community comes together to enjoy and celebrate Maharashtrian festivals like the Ganeshotstav, Diwali and much more.
आपल्या सगळ्या रूढी, परंपरा लक्ष्यात ठेवून आपण आनंदाने गणेशोत्सव साजरा करतो. तसेच दिवाळी चा कार्यक्रम सुद्धा एकत्र येऊन वातावरण मंगलमय करायचा अतोनात प्रयत्न असतो. शिवाय विविध गुण दर्शन कार्यक्रम आजच्या पिढीला व कालच्या पिढीला सामावून घेऊन साजरे करायचा उत्साह नेहमीच सर्वांमध्ये जागरूक असतो
